Grade 5: Foundation Level
Term 3-a: Health and Dream Jobs
This term Grade 5 foundation level will study the unit ‘Health’ and ‘Dream Jobs’. The students will learn vocabulary related to the jobs, future goals, body parts and how to describe symptoms. We will focus on grammar; future tense, would like to, subject and object particles.Grade 5 will organize a role play to reinforce what they have learnt and will create a poster about their dream jobs, which include relevant phrases.
Term 3-b Celebration
Grade 5 will learn about celebrations which occur in May such as Korean Children’s Day, Parents’ Day, Teacher’s Day and Buddha’s Birthday.

All about me!
The students made a booklet 'All about Me' including information such as greetings, name, nationality, age, where I live, school, family, favourite things and hobbies. Then they introduced it in the assembly.

At the beginning of the year the new students will start by learning how to read and write the Korean alphabet. They will then study about how to introduce themselves, family members, friends and general greetings using Sino and Pure Korean numbers and phrases linked with the unit ‘Ourselves’.
The students who accomplish the unit ‘Ourselves’ will study vocabulary related to various hobbies, expressions of preference, asking and answering about hobbies as well as reading and writing a notice for a club membership.
After the unit ‘Ourselves’ Grade 5 will study ‘Daily Life 1’. The students will learn vocabulary related to places, time, subjects, food and conjugations of the verbs. The end of the unit Grade 5 should able to express their daily routines and activities.
Grade 5 will also celebrate Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) and Hangul Day (Korean language proclamation day) linked with the unit ‘Celebaration’.
